Gerri Carroll Hope Center
The Gerri Carroll Hope Center is named in honour of the founder of Souls Harbour Mission House. Read more about her on the History page.

The Gerri Carroll Hope Center includes the Soup Kitchen, Free Clothing Store, and Men's Emergency Shelter.

Soup Kitchen

Our soup kitchen began from the desire of one woman, Gerri Carroll, who wanted to help the less fortunate. From it's humble beginnings in 1990 with a prayer, a pot of coffee, and a few wooden milk crates for chairs, the Mission has has grown dramatically in size and service to the needy.

Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission is a non-profit, charitable organization that is committed to meeting the mental, physical, social and spiritual needs of people from all walks of life.

Over time, the staff and volunteers become familiar and befriend many of the regulars who find the mission a caring and good place to be. Staff and volunteers at the mission believe in these people and encourage them. At Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission, the needy receive hope and knowing that someone cares.

Other services at the Soup Kitchen: Coffee House, Friday drop-in, Evening Programing, Sunday lunches.

Free Clothing Store

Our clothing store provides everything free of charge. We offer women's, men's, and children's clothing, as well as some household items. The clothing store is open from 1-4pm Monday through Friday.

Emergency Shelter

There are a total of 12 beds available, with two beds in each room. Men who need a place to stay can come to the Shelter and stay for free for up to seven nights. We provide them with a toiletries kit and meals. We assist them in making arrangements to enter our LifeChange Discipleship Program or to find other accommodations.

  • The Shelter is a clean and sober environment and therefore men with known addictions and other life-controlling problems must agree to join the LifeChange Discipleship Program. There is a wait list program at the Shelter for times when the LifeChange Program is full.
  • Residents share a common bathroom, living room, kitchen, and free laundry facility.
  • The phone number for the Shelter is (306) 522-4600.
  • The Shelter is open for intakes from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
  • Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission only has emergency shelter options for men. If you are a woman or have a family and are in immediate need of assistance, call Mobile Crises at (306) 727-0127.
