What is your full name?
Michelle Carol Maria Porter
Carol, after my favourite Aunt.
Maria - a variation on a family name, Marie. (Yup, Catholic roots!)
How old are you?
I'm younger than Larry. =)
I would like to be 35.
What education background do you have?
I'm the first recipient of a Bachelor of Rescue Ministry! I now serve on the Association of Rescue Mission's Rescue College Advisory Board. One of my passions is mentoring the many Rescue College interns we take on! 7 of 9 (That's the name of the Borg defector on Star Trek!) have had their one- year Rescue College training! Currently we have 4 interns enrolled.

My entire adulthood thus far!
How did God bring you into RESCUE ministry?

Associate Founding Director
Briefly describe your duties at the Mission?
Asking people for money. =)

What church do you attend?
Argyle Road Baptist Church. Amazing preaching! We're going through the book of Hebrews right now. I like that Pastor Ron teaches through entire books of the Bible. You get an amazing overview and proper perspective of the Scripture in the context it was meant to be read.
What is your testimony?
I came to know Jesus as my personal Saviour when I was 13 years old. A Bible camp, my best friend, a tract, and a Christian neighbour all played an important role. I was re-baptized at age 16.
Which scripture passage means the most to you?
The first verse I ever committed to memory is Isaiah 41:10. "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
What is your dream vacation, assuming you have unlimited time and money?
I have already had my dream vacation to Israel. It changed my life! I wouldn't mind an extended trip to Europe or a summer at a beach house, though. I love to camp!
What is your dream vacation based on your pay and schedule at the Mission?
Pitch a tent in my backyard for a weekend.

What is your preferred means of transportation and why?
My Toyota Matrix TRD!
If you could have any job or position at the Mission, which would it be and why?
I'm vying for Ken's position. ;)
Don't tell Ken I have a mug that says, "The Real Boss."
What do you do for down-time?
Work.
Where were you born?
St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Where do you place amongst your siblings?
I'm the oldest of five. Apparently I've always vyed for control. I have a sign on my desk with a picture of a Siamese cat. It says, "Why can't you all just OBEY me?"
Where would you like to be 14 years from now?
That's random. I'll be over the hill.
If you could learn any language, which would it be and why?
I was just thinking about this the other day. Greek. So I can interpret the New Testament. Hebrew. So I can move to Israel.
What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
I've been working on polishing off Melanie's Haagen Daaz Cherry Truffle. Mmm.
